Jimmy had not been going to his own church on a regular basis so he just went to church with me. I would tell
him, "You don't have to go to church with me. I would like for you to go but it is o.k. if you don't feel like going."
But he just said, "I want to go to church with you! End of discussion!" When we talked about getting married he
was in agreement that we would be married by a Catholic priest That's the way it was. We were both happy going
to church together and accepted the fact that we would be married by a priest.
Father Patrick Reuse was my favorite priest at St Francis Church and he had been a good friend for many years so
I asked him to officiate at our wedding. He met with us several times and sometimes he spoke with Jimmy alone.
I never knew what they talked about. Their conversation was between Father Reuse and Jimmy.
Father Reuse was a very religious, intelligent man who had a good sense of humor. When he met with
Jimmy and me he said that he wanted us to just relax and not be worried or anxious about talking with him. He
said, "I usually talk with couples who are going to be married about birth control. Now all I am going to say to you
two is: Just do the best you can!"
Of course, we laughed and from then on we were calm and enjoyed our meeting with him.
Cheri, Jimmy's daughter, was my Matron of Honor and Cary, my oldest son, was Jimmy's Best man.
Only immediate family members attended the wedding: Cheri, Jimmy's daughter, Don, Jimmy's son, Debra, Don's lady
friend, Cary, my oldest son, and his wife, Linda, John, my youngest son, and his wife, Darlene, Skip Thomas, my nephew, and
his wife, Marla, Oliver, Jimmy's brother, and his wife, Rowena, and my grandson, James Frederick Price, who was in the U.S.
Air Force but had special leave to attend his Grandmother Viv's wedding.
Here you see Cheri, me (Vivian), Father Reuse, Jimmy, and Cary. at the altar.

Vivian and Jimmy after the marriage ceremony
"All right, Jimmy, you may kiss the bride," said Father Reuse.

After the marriage ceremony, our children gave us a lovely reception at Johnny and Darlene's home.
The Hosts and Hostesses were: Cary, Linda, Johnny, Darlene, Don, Debra and Cheri. My nephew, Skip and his wife,
Marla were also included on the Host/Hostesses list.
We received some lovely gifts, although we had stipulated: "No gifts, please." More importantly, we
received best wishes for our future together.
At the reception, Skip, Don, Cheri, Jimmy, Vivian, Johnny and Cary
