To read about my early ancestors and my early history, go to Eddie and Sarah Johnson's
History, or Viola and Dick Edgar's History.
My sister, Mary Louise, and I lived with our maternal grandmother during our elementary school and high school
years. My brother, Dick (Charles Richard, Jr.) was with Granny part of that time. Our half-sister, Joy, always lived
with Dad and her mother, Ann. It's strange that the time passed so quickly and I guess we were always busy so we did
not take many pictures. Here I will include a few pictures of our family.
My sister, Mary, had three sons, by two husbands. My brother, Dick, had three sons, also.
My half-sister, Joy, had two sons and a daughter. I do not have late pictures of my brother and sisters, due
to the fact that my brother, Dick, died in October, 1974. My half-sister, Joy, died in November, 1974.
My sister, Mary, died in March of 1975. What a sad time it was for me, my nephews and our extended family.
This is a picture of my father and my stepmother on their fiftith anniversary. They were married on
July 1, l924, about one year after my mother's death. They celebrated their fiftith anniversary on July 1, 1974, just a few
months before the death of my brother, Dick, and sister, Joy.
When we were small, before we went to live with Granny, my sister and I lived with Aunt Betty, and
we loved her very much. She was the one who bought us pretty clothes, books, magazines and toys. She had a cancer
operation in 1930 and was not expected to survive. She did survive but she was not strong after that, so we did not
live with her. But she came to see us in Texas and took us on trips to Dallas, to see our paternal relatives, including
Grandfather Henry Edgar. She drove a big Packard Sedan and she was a good mechanic. If anything went wrong with
that car, she got out and tinkered with something and then off we went. She was fun to be with. The picture
below is me, Vivian, with Aunt Betty and my sister, Mary.

This is a sweet picture of Granny. It was made in 1932. We don't have many pictures of
Granny. She didn't like to have her picture taken unless she was dressed up and she never liked to get dressed
up. She was always too busy.
The girls are Mary and (me), Vivian. Granny looks happy but both Mary and I look pouty and gloomy.

In 1942, my father, Dick Edgar, enlisted in the U. S. Navy. Due to his experience as the owner of a garage
and his ability as a mechanic, he received a good rating. It is interesting that he was in the same depot as President
John F. Kennedy. In fact, he was in charge of servicing President JFK's boat the fatal night it went out.
My father was also wounded in WWII and was in the hospital for several months. When he was well enough to do so, he
was allowed to go on War Bond selling tours. This picture was taken at our home, 1637 E. Almeria, when Dad
was home on leave in 1944.

This is a family picture taken in July, 1973 at our reunion. My sister
Mary is first, going clockwise, then Dino, Mary's youngest son, Freddy, Brother Dick's middle son, my father, Dick Edgar,
Aunt Betty, Uncle Henry, Dad's brother, my brother, Dick Edgar, Jr. and a blurred, Carl, Dick's youngest son, and me.
The picture was made in July, 1973. We had a reunion that year in Phoenix. I am so glad that we got together
at that time because the next year my sister, Mary, and my brother, Dick, passed away.

This is a picture of Joy, my half sister, and her third husband, Gene Radcliff.
Joy was married to an Air Force Lieutenant and had a daughter with him. He deserted her and got a divorce.
She then married another Lt. and had two sons with him. She then divorced him and married Gene Radcliff. They
were still married when she died suddenly in November, 1974. The cause of death was ruled due to a heart attack.
I have always believed that it was related to smoking.

This picture is a collage of my sister, Mary, and her three sons. The top
part of the picture is of Mary, and her husband, Victor Mastrianni Masters. Vic used the name Masters as
his professional name. He was a band leader.
The middle part of the picture is of my son, Johnny, my husband Fred, Skip, Mary's oldest
son, and Victor, Mary's middle son.
The bottom part of the picture includes Dino, my sister's youngest son,
and my sister's granddaughter, Dina.

My sister Mary's husband,
Vick Masters, had a job with
his orchestra in Palm Springs,
California, when this picture
was taken in 1954. Vick was well
acquainted with Liberace. They were on the same program at one of the big hotels in Palm Springs. Liberace came on first and then Vick's orchestra played for the rest of the evening. So, when
Mary and Vick's son, Victor, was born, they
asked Liberace to be his God Father. Mary
is holding Victor, with Liberace on her right and
Vick on her left.
I believe the baby, Victor, was four weeks
old when the picture was taken in 1954. They
stayed in touch with Liberace until his death.
My sister Mary's middle son, Victor, Liberace's Godson, was a musician.
He was the drummer for several well known singers, including Crystal Gale, Reba McIntire, Dottie and Shelly West and Ricky
Van Shelton.

This picture is of me, Vivian, Reba and Skip, Mary's oldest son. Reba is signing
a program for me. She signed it 'To Aunt Viv, Reba McIntire'.

This picture shows Johnny, Fred, Victor and me.

This is my sister Mary's middle son, the
drummer, Victor, with Crystal Gale. Crystal was in Phoenix for a show. Because Victor
was the drummer for her band we received free tickets which were usually in the VIP section. Another time when Crystal
was in Phoenix, she was with her sister, Loretta Lynn. They gave a great performance and again we had VIP complimentary
tickets. Victor retired about ten years ago from being a drummer on the road. He now lives in, or near Nashville,
and works for a music store. He occasionally does a 'gig' locally.
Look closely and you can see Crystal's autograph on the picture: To Aunt Viv
