Frederick Newton and Elena Vivian Edgar Price

SUMMARY:

VIVIAN EDGAR PRICE graduated from Arizona State Teachers College (ASU) with BA, MA and Reading/LD Specialist Degrees in Education.  Arizona State Teachers' College  is now, and has been, for many years, Arizona State University.   I was an elementary teacher in the Osborn School District for ten years and later I joined the staff at Sevilla School in  the Alhambra District where I was teaching when I retired.  I then became a substitute teacher at Phoenix College. On retiring, I became very involved with the Heard Museum and at one time was President of the Heard Guild.   The Heard Museum Guild has 700 volunteer members.   I volunteer there regularly.  I am also on the Board of Governors at  the Phoenix Museum of History.  I volunteer for the Arizona Historical Society and the Phoenix Symphony.

Frederick Newton Price and I were married on September 14, 1941.  We celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary on September 14, 1991.  We were happily married all of those years, raising two sons, Cary James, born on September 14, 1943, and John Thomas born on February 14, 1946.

Sadly, Fred died on January 27, 1997.

On February 28, 2002,  I married U. S. Army Ret. Brigadier General James R. Stallings at St. Francis Rectory Chapel in Phoenix. Jimmy has a daughter, Cheri, a son, Don and one grandson.  (The grandson died in 2003 in Phoenix)  James is active with his military units, the Arizona National Guard and the Bushmasters of the 158th Regiment of the U. S. Army.

CARY JAMES PRICE, son of Fred and Vivian, received a degree in Forestry from Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, AZ. He worked for the U. S. Forest Service for many years.  He is now retired.

Cary's wife, Linda, also graduated from NAU with a BA in Education.  She taught for many years in the Williams School District.  She was a music major and taught music in addition to the regular curriculum.  She is an advanced computer technician and kept all of the school's computers running.  Cary and Linda live in Williams, Arizona.

JAMES FREDERICK PRICE, son of Cary and Linda Price, graduated from Williams High School in 1987. He immediately enlisted in the U.S. Air Force.  He is retiring from the service in August, 2006.  He is married to Laura Derrick and they have a four-month-old son named Gavin James.  He originally was stationed at Fort Campbell in Kentucky. His home base is currently Ft. Hood, Waco, Texas.  After his retirement he will live and work in Lawton, Oklahoma, which is near Fort Sill.

He served in Desert Storm in the mid-east in 1990-1991.  He was in Korea in 2000-2001.  He was in Afghanistan in 2001, where he was wounded in so-called  ‘Friendly Fire’.  He was awarded the Purple Heart for that injury.

SUSAN LYNN PRICE, second child of Cary and Linda, received her BA in Science from NAU in Flagstaff, AZ. She went on to get a MA in Science from New York University, New York, New York. She taught Science at Yashiva University for four years. She is currently teaching at New York University.

Susan married Joseph Petrillo in 2000 in Flagstaff: AZ. They live in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Joseph is a decorative design metal artist and works in construction. He is also a master at restoring antique furniture.

JOHN THOMAS PRICE, second son of Fred and Vivian, graduated from ASU with a BA degree in Business Management. He was known for his gymnastic skills during his years at ASU.  In fact, he received a four-year scholarship at ASU for his gymnastic ability. John taught business at Alhambra High School for one year and then entered the real estate and construction business.  He received an additional degree in Construction from ASU. He has done very well by buying historic homes, restoring them and then selling them.   His company is The J. T. Price Development Co. He is well known for the beautiful homes he has built on the top of Moon Mountain in the Moon Valley Country Club area, which is north of Thunderbird Road in Phoenix.  John is a well-known and respected builder in the Phoenix area.  Most of his clients become his trusted friends.

Before his father died, John gave his lady friend of many years, Darlene Keller, an engagement ring.  This made Freddy very happy.  He loved Darlene and was so pleased with their engagement. They were married on February 14, 1998, about one year after his father's death.

Darlene was previously married to Jack Keller.  They had two sons. Bret and Todd.  Both boys have college degrees and are successful in their careers.  Both are happily married.  Bret and Day, and his wife, have one-year-old twin girls.  Todd and Allison have a ten month old baby boy

I am the luckiest and I think the happiest wife, mother, grandmother and great-grand mother in the world.
